Latima Charbonneau (she/her)

Communications Director

Latima was born and raised in New York City. Seattle living continues to teach her to be patient and to stop and notice nature. While Latima hates actual comedy, she loves to laugh and appreciates laughter.

Latima went to Virginia Tech (Let's Go Hokies) thinking she would pursue a law degree. After a few years, she called an audible and received her bachelor's degree in English with a focus on professional writing. She moved on to complete her master’s degree in journalism from the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism in New York City.

Wanting something new, after grad school, Latima traveled across the country for the first time ever and settled in Seattle. Latima has worked at Friends of the Children for 6 ½ years and has loved every moment of her job connecting with the youth and their families.

Outside of work, Latima spends her time with her husband, 3-year-old son, dog, and cat. She enjoys binge-watching Netflix and reading books when she can steal a moment to herself. She is also extremely passionate about climate change, social justice, and empowering youth.
