Staff: Lydia Leary (she/her)

Born in Hershey, Pennsylvania, Lydia is a mix of Pacific Northwest and Pennsylvania Dutch. Since she was 16, she’s been passionate about volunteering and advocating for organizations that serve children and families to help them thrive and break down barriers.

She first learned about Friends during her undergraduate at the University of Oregon. She was so inspired by how Friends was actively breaking down our community's systemic and generational barriers for children and youth through a 1:1 mentoring model. From that point on, Friends became an organization that she was passionate about supporting and dreamed of partnering with.

In her free time, Lydia loves camping, kayaking, and exploring the Pacific Northwest with her fiancé and her goofy Old English Sheepdog, Rooper.
