Winter Family Giving

The winter season is very exciting, filled with many different traditions, holidays, and family fun. During this time, Friends of the Children–Seattle partners with generous companies and members of the community to support our families by providing gift cards.

Families in our program will submit a wish list for gift cards for each family member under 18 in the program youth’s household. Wish lists will also include a gift card for the whole family.

Gift cards to stores offer families the most flexibility to provide more avenues to connection and self-expression by being able to pick out clothes, games, home goods, and toys for themselves and each other. It means so much to families when they have more freedom in choosing fun gifts and needed items.

Due to the COVID-19 Delta Variant, we are exclusively accepting gift cards so our families can purchase their gifts in a way that is safe for them while still fostering family moments.

Support our youth and families with Winter Family Giving this year. Sign up here to be paired with a specific family and fulfill their specific wish. The deadline to be paired with a specific family is October 22nd. For more information please review our FAQ here.

Or make a direct donation by November 1st to support our families through Winter Family Giving. This fund will be used to purchase gift cards to fulfill any wish lists that are not paired with specific supporters.

Still have questions? Please email Sierra Wagner at sierra@friendsseattle.org.

This year we have over 230 youth in our program and more than 1,000 members in the families we serve. We need your support and we hope you will join us in brightening a family’s winter season! Thank you for being a part of our community, no matter what.

“COVID-19 has re-emphasized the importance of family. We would like to thank you in advance for what you do to help our wishes become a reality. Please stay safe. From our family to yours, happy holidays!” – Program parent

"One of my families was able to get home goods like new bedding and kitchen stuff for their new place. They weren't really in need of holiday gifts but did need more "furnishings" for their home and that was really helpful." - Katy, K-5 Professional Mentor
