The Ambassador Board (A-Board) exists to provide direct volunteer support, advocacy, and fundraising to assist Friends of the Children in fulfilling its mission to impact generational change by empowering youth who are facing the greatest obstacles through relationships with professional mentors- 12+ years, no matter what.
Tristan was first introduced to Friends by his wife through her company's support of the Why Not You Foundation. Since getting involved with Friends, he has hosted Career Path Program events with my employer. Tristan's goal is to reduce barriers to successful careers for young people who do not have the same privileges and opportunities that he has had.
Tristan is a Product Manager for Qualtrics. He studied finance and entrepreneurship at the University of Washington. He loves outdoor sports (backcountry skiing, backpacking, mountaineering), though now as the father of a young child, he has scaled those hobbies back to something safer and based at home - woodworking is the latest!
Makenzie is an Executive Assistant for Talent Acquisition at Amazon. She attended Portland State University and received a B.S. in Community Health Education. Growing up in Portland, her parents shared their passion for Friends of the Children with her. When she moved to Seattle and learned about the Ambassador Board, she knew it would be an amazing way to continue to support Friends in her new town.
Makenzie has a goldendoodle named Remi. Being near or on the water is her favorite way to recharge.
