Tamara Corn was born in Nyack, New York, and grew up in Kirkland, Washington. She identifies as Afro-Latina and has a large multicultural family. Her favorite place to travel is to the Dominican Republic, where her mother was born.
Tamara has a long list of places she cannot wait to explore, such as Jamaica and Mexico. Tamara loves DIY home decor projects, shopping, and trying new restaurants in her spare time, and she loves the Seattle Seahawks and the Brooklyn Nets. Tamara has one son and an orange tabby named Ace.
Tamara thinks Friends of the Children-Seattle is a special place to work because of the long-term mentoring model. She thinks it is essential to provide youth with a mentor who can help guide them with emotional support and give them resources to elevate their journey through life.
