WHAT WE DO The Ambassador Board (A-Board) exists to provide direct volunteer support, advocacy, and fundraising to assist Friends of the Children in fulfilling its mission to impact generational change by empowering youth who are facing the greatest obstacles through relationships with professional mentors- 12+ years, no matter what. Ambassador Board members represent Friends of the Children – Seattle (Friends-Seattle) to their networks and the wider community. The A-Board works with the Board, Staff, and community partners to elevate the Friends-Seattle program through their unique skills and experience. Every year, the A-Board hosts an annual fundraiser as well as additional engagement/ team building events. WHO WE ARE We are looking for dedicated and creative folks with learned skills and/ or lived experiences that can best support the youth we serve. There are multiple leadership opportunities within the Ambassador Board and throughout the organization. Members are expected to participate in organizational activities, trainings, and professional development opportunities when appropriate. Meet Our Current Ambassador Board RESPONSIBILITIES Volunteer hours vary from 24 – 36+ hours a year depending on member involvement. There are monthly hour-long meetings with the entire Ambassador Board and depending on involvement, there might be additional meetings with other A-Board Members, Board Members, Committees, and/ or Staff. A-Board members are expected to make a meaningful financial contribution to support the mission of Friends-Seattle. However, this gift is what is considered meaningful to YOU and there is no established minimum amount needed to be an Ambassador Board member. There are also other ways to contribute financially by either soliciting in-kind gifts, corporate sponsorships, as well as leading and supporting Friends-Seattle’s fundraising events.
