
Join a Committee
We need your help to make sure our youth are supported from kindergarten through high school graduation, no matter what. We have developed various committees to ensure we are maximizing our capacity to serve our youth. We look forward to working with you to help our youth reach their greatest potential!
If you are interested in joining one of our committees, please fill out the form at the bottom of the page and select the committee(s) in which you are interested. The following committees are currently open to community members:

Finance Committee
- Provides financial oversight to ensure ongoing financial viability of organization
- Oversees the annual budget process and annual financial statement review and tax preparation
- Educates the Board of Directors regarding financial and fiduciary responsibilities
- Meets the third Tuesday of each month; minimum one-year commitment

Risk Management Committee
- Meets quarterly to surface and manage the operational risks facing the organization
- Reviews and updates operating manual annually
- Minimum one-year commitment

Fund Development Committee
- Supports the organization's overall fundraising efforts
- Assists staff in strategizing, implementing and evaluating fundraising activities
- Meets monthly; minimum one-year commitment

Fall Fundraiser Host Committee
- Supports strategy and implementation of annual fall fundraising event
- Includes auction procurement, guest development and fundraising
- Meets monthly, then weekly in the months leading up to the event
- Minimum one-year commitment

Soiree Host Committee
- Supports Ambassador Board's yearly fundraiser event
- Includes event planning, potential auction procurement, guest development and fundraising
- Meets once or twice per month; more frequently in the months leading up to the event
- Minimum one-year commitment

Communications Committee
- Supports Friends-Seattle strategic marketing and communications efforts, including social media and thought leadership/PR strategy
- Develops ways to communicate effectively with the community and analyze metrics
- Ensures we are communicating important organizational information to stakeholders
- Minimum one-year commitment

Strategic Planning Committee
- Leads and manages strategic planning effort for Friends-Seattle
- Monitors implementation plan, ensures goals are tracked, and progress is communicated to stakeholders
- Meets quarterly (new term starts April 2022); one-year commitment
